Choosing What to Bring

Bali is a beautiful and exotic destination, but packing for a trip to this Indonesian island can be overwhelming. With its tropical climate and diverse culture, it’s important to pack the right items to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable trip. To help you out, we’ve put together the ultimate packing checklist for Bali.

  • Clothing: Bali is a tropical destination, so light and breathable clothing is necessary. Pack a variety of lightweight tops, shorts, and dresses that can be easily layered. Remember to bring a swimsuit, as Bali is known for its beautiful beaches. If you plan on visiting temples, it’s important to pack modest clothing covering your shoulders and knees.
  • Footwear: Comfortable footwear is a must for Bali. Pack a pair of sandals for the beach and comfortable walking shoes for exploring. If you plan on doing any hiking, make sure to bring sturdy shoes with good grip.
  • Sun Protection: Bali is a tropical destination, so protecting yourself from the sun is important. Pack a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen. Waterproof sunscreen is recommended (although you can get it there, you might not be able to get your brand), as you’ll likely be spending a lot of time in the water.
  • Toiletries: Bali has plenty of shops to purchase toiletries, but bringing your own is a good idea. Pack your usual items, such as toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, and conditioner. If you have any prescription medications, make sure to pack those as well.
  • Electronics: Bali has a good selection of electronics, but if you have a specific device you can’t live without, make sure to bring it. Remember to pack a power adapter, as the electrical outlets in Bali are different from those in other countries.

Things To Remember:

  • Consider taking a photo of all your appliances switched off on the wall.
  • Place your passport under your keys.
  • I always make sure to bring a small sum of money with me and at least two credit cards for safety (In separate places, of course).
  • Are your animals with friends, family or an animal care facility?
  • Contact your neighbours, let them know you will be going on a holiday, and ask them to keep an eye on your house for you.
  • Turn off the fuse box.
  • Check with your local doctor to see if you require any vaccinations 6-8 weeks before your Bali holiday.

Bring what you can, try not to waste half tubes of sunscreen.

I suggest packing over several days and laying all your items out in a row; this way, if you need anything (toothbrush, for example), it’s easily accessible. Preparing over several days allows time to remember personal belongings not on the list.

On a side note, Indonesia is currently ranked as one of the highest water pollutants in the world due to the large amounts of plastics that are not recycled correctly.

Everyone can do their bit to help keep this tropical paradise beautiful so bring what you can to avoid throwing away wrappers.

Instead of just buying everything over there only to be tossed at the end of your holidays, bring what you can with you and also bring what you can home.

Anything you have left over that you can no longer use, notify reception rather than just throwing it into the bin. They can then use it for themselves or give it to the less fortunate.

Stay safe and have fun.

Summary

Packing for a trip to Bali is easier when you have a checklist. You can ensure a comfortable andby bringing the right items enjoyable trip . So, pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and get ready for an amazing adventure in Bali.
