Overview

Bangli is organised into four subdistricts, four hamlets, and 56 villages. Kintamani, a well-known tourist resort in Bali, is one of Bangli’s districts. Bangli is one of Bali’s eight regencies and one city without a coastline.

However, Bangli possesses Bali’s largest lake, Batur Lake, which serves as a water source for much of the farming in south Bali.

Regarding the lake’s significance, the subak system regards Pura Ulun Danu Batur as its orientation of worship to the God of Wisnu, the cosmos’ defender.

Bangli, located in the central mountain range and highlands, enjoys cool weather that gets cooler at night, notably in Kintamani.

The Bangli Regency’s development priorities are centred on the economy, focusing on the agricultural sector in general, tourism, and small-scale manufacturing, particularly supporting tourism.

Northern Bangli mountain ranges, located 400 metres above sea level, are Bali’s largest producer of bamboo.

The roofs of most traditional Bali buildings are made of Bangli bamboo. In addition, bamboo is used as a roof cover in traditional houses in Bangli’s mountain ranges.

Crafting / Diligence of Bamboo is such a minor industry in Bangli Regency that it represents the pre-eminent product with local raw materials that are still plentiful.

Aside from the mild temperature and stunning views of animals around Batur Lake, the regency’s diverse historical remnants are another source of support for Bangli’s tourism potential.

As a result, several hotels and restaurants have been constructed.

Geography

The northern section of the district comprises the main road to the north coast, which passes through Kintamani and around Gunung Batur’s crater.

Bali Island, particularly its southern part, may be seen from the Demulih hill – Kuta, Nusa Dua, Gianyar, and a portion of Klungkung.
